Patna: Women associated with Bihar’s flagship livelihood programme JEEViKA could soon find new employment opportunities in the beauty and wellness sector, after a private company proposed structured training to make them professional beauticians.
The proposal was presented on Friday by Rishi Ranjan Kumar, chief executive of Ladyfair Beauty Concept, during an industry dialogue chaired by Pratyaya Amrit. Kumar said his firm was willing to provide one month of intensive training to Jeevika women, equipping them with marketable skills and linking them to employment opportunities.
The chief secretary asked the JEEViKA leadership to examine the proposal in detail and prepare an actionable plan, signalling the government’s interest in expanding non-farm livelihood options for women through private-sector partnerships.

The meeting was part of a broader effort by the state government to attract industrial investment and address bottlenecks faced by entrepreneurs. Twelve representatives from healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture and waste management sectors participated, presenting proposals and outlining regulatory and land-related challenges.
Among the pitches, Jailendra Kumar of Altiva Lifesciences proposed setting up a medical cyclotron and PET radiopharmaceutical facility in Bihar to support advanced cancer diagnosis and treatment. Navneet Ranjan of Mediversal Healthcare expressed interest in establishing a specialised school and healthcare facility for children with special needs, seeking five acres of land for the project.
Arun Kumar Singh, chief executive of Armon International, outlined a plan to integrate agriculture, food processing and bio-energy on a single platform to boost farmers’ incomes. Ayush Agarwal of Rudraveer Industries presented technology for recycling industrial waste into value-added products and requested land parcels in Hajipur, Begusarai, Bihta and Aurangabad to scale operations.
