Patna: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has extended the deadline for online applications for its 2026-27 entrance examination. Candidates can now submit their forms without any late fee until January 13, offering additional time for those who had not yet applied.
Applicants who miss this extended deadline will still have a chance to apply by paying a late fee between January 14 and 16. Both NIFT and the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the examination, have urged students to complete their applications well in advance to avoid last-minute technical issues.
The NIFT entrance exam is scheduled for February 8 and will take place across 102 cities nationwide. The examination will be held in both computer-based test (CBT) and pen-and-paper formats, depending on the course applied for.
NIFT, one of India’s premier fashion education institutions, offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in design, fashion technology, fashion management, and related fields. The entrance examination is a crucial gateway for students seeking admission, with thousands appearing each year.
Candidates can apply through the official NIFT entrance examination portal at https://exams.nta.nic.in/niftee/, where they can access detailed notifications, eligibility criteria, course information, and instructions for the application process. Applicants are required to submit personal and academic details, upload necessary documents, and pay the prescribed fee online.
NIFT and NTA have advised candidates to retain a printout of the completed application form and regularly check the official website for updates, including the release of admit cards and other examination-related announcements.
