Patna: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Friday inspected the ongoing landscaping and beautification work along the JP Ganga Path in Patna, taking stock of efforts to improve the city’s riverfront. During the visit, he walked through a park that is currently under development and reviewed the plantation and design work being carried out along the stretch. Officials explained the details of the project and updated the chief minister on its progress and timelines.
The chief minister asked officials to ensure that the park is developed keeping the safety and convenience of people in mind, especially as it is located close to the banks of the Ganges. He said good quality work was being done and that the project would help increase greenery in the area. According to him, once completed, the park will provide a pleasant space where people can spend quality time with their families away from the rush of daily life.
Nitish Kumar said the plantation work will make the JP Ganga Path area look lush and green in the coming months. He described the road as an important and impressive project for Patna and said its beautification is being carried out in a planned manner. The chief minister expressed confidence that the riverfront area will become a major attraction in the future, drawing both local residents and visitors.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining road safety and ensuring smooth traffic movement along the JP Ganga Path, which has become an important route in the city. Several senior leaders and officials were present during the inspection, including Rajya Sabha MP and JDU national working president Sanjay Kumar Jha, principal secretary to the chief minister Deepak Kumar, special officer Gopal Singh, secretary Dr Chandrashekhar Singh, Patna divisional commissioner Animesh Parashar, and Patna district magistrate Dr Thiyagarajan S.M., along with other senior officials.
