Patna: The Bihar government has announced a streamlined process for beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Girl Child Protection Scheme to receive funds directly in their bank accounts. The scheme, managed by the Women and Child Development Corporation through the Social Welfare Department in collaboration with UTI Mutual Fund, covers girls who were issued UTI bonds between 2008 and 2012.
Under the revised procedure, girls who have turned 18 can claim their maturity amount by submitting documents at their local Anganwadi centres. Beneficiaries are required to provide a completed survey form, a birth certificate, Aadhaar card, original UTI bond, passport-size photograph, PAN card (if available), and a completed KYC form. Bank account and UPI details will also be verified before the funds are transferred.
The initiative marks the start of 2026’s disbursement process, with an intensive district-wide campaign under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) to ensure no eligible girl is left out. Both unmarried and married beneficiaries can claim the funds, with special forms for those who have relocated after marriage capturing marital status, current address, and other relevant details.
The Social Welfare Department has urged beneficiaries to approach their Anganwadi centres promptly and complete all formalities to receive the benefits.
