Bhagalpur: Magadh Sugar & Energy Limited, a flagship company of the K K Birla Group, has recruited eight students from Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, following a campus placement drive for the post of trainee (cane). The selection included two female candidates, university officials said.
The recruitment programme was held on the BAU Sabour campus and was chaired by Dr. A.K. Saha, Dean of Agriculture. University authorities thanked Magadh Sugar & Energy Limited for choosing BAU for campus recruitment, describing the initiative as an important link between academic training and industry needs.
The interview panel was led by Rajeev Sharma, Executive Vice-President (corporate cane) at Magadh Sugar. He was joined by Ravindra Singh, EVP (cane) at the Hata unit, Prem Singh, Deputy General Manager (cane) at the Narkatiaganj unit, and Dipendra Singh, Assistant General Manager (human resources) at the Hasanpur unit. The panel also conducted an industry interaction session with students.
In a message to participants, BAU Vice-Chancellor Dr. D.R. Singh said industry-oriented placement drives help strengthen students’ employability and reflect the university’s commitment to producing skilled professionals for the agro-industrial sector. Addressing students, Dr. Saha encouraged them to adapt to corporate work culture and explore career opportunities in sugar, ethanol production and renewable energy.
Established in 2010, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour has emerged as a leading institution in agricultural education, research and extension, with ten constituent colleges serving Bihar’s agro-climatic zones II and III. The placement process was supported by several faculty members and coordinated by Dr. Chandan Kumar Panda, Officer-in-Charge of the university’s placement cell.
