Patna: Fresh and troubling details have emerged in the case of a NEET student who died under suspicious circumstances in Patna, prompting calls for a thorough investigation. Purnia MP Pappu Yadav has released an Audio Recording of a conversation with a Nurse from Prabhat Memorial Hospital that challenges earlier claims by hospital authorities and local police.
In the recording, the nurse alleges that the student, when admitted, was unconscious and bore “foam-like substance” and blood in her genital area. The nurse further claimed that the attending gynecologist suggested the student had either undergone an abortion or consumed abortion pills, directly refuting suggestions that the student’s condition was related to menstruation.
According to the nurse, the student briefly regained consciousness two days after admission and signalled to her mother that she had been harmed. She subsequently lapsed into a coma, raising questions about whether she was administered sedatives or other substances.
The nurse also alleged that hospital staff offered financial inducements to the family to cover treatment costs and have reportedly threatened her since the revelations came to light, warning of legal action if she did not comply with hospital demands.
Pappu Yadav, who has protested outside Parliament over the incident, claims the audio exposes discrepancies in the hospital’s report, which local authorities had previously used to dismiss allegations of sexual assault. The MP continues to demand action against the owner of Shambhu Hostel, where the student was reportedly staying.
