Patna: A man has been arrested in Patna after allegedly beating his father to death during a domestic dispute, police said on Saturday. The incident took place near Kurji Pul Kothiya Mor in the Digha area of Patna, sending shockwaves through the local community.
According to police, an argument broke out between the accused, identified as Khalid, and his father, Jumman Miya, 60, over an undisclosed issue. The dispute escalated rapidly, and the son is alleged to have attacked his father with a stick, inflicting fatal injuries. The victim reportedly died at the scene.
Officers from Digha police station arrived after being alerted by locals and family members. The body has been taken into custody and sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death, officials said.
The accused has been detained and is being questioned, while a formal case is being registered. Investigators say the killing appears to have stemmed from a domestic dispute, though they are continuing to probe the circumstances and motive behind the attack.
