Patna: The civil courts in Patna and Danapur were evacuated on Wednesday morning after authorities received another bomb threat via anonymous email, marking the sixth such warning in recent months.
Court premises were immediately cleared as a precaution, and police sealed off the buildings, preventing entry while security checks were carried out. Officials said the threat was received earlier in the day, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
A team from Pirbahor police station arrived at the scene soon after the alert. Bomb disposal and dog squads were deployed, and an intensive search operation was launched across the court premises to check for any suspicious objects.
Security in the surrounding area was also stepped up, with additional personnel stationed nearby to prevent any untoward incident. Authorities said court proceedings would resume once the search was completed and the premises declared safe.
The latest threat has heightened concerns about security arrangements at the Patna civil court complex. This is the sixth time an anonymous message warning of an explosive device has been received. In each previous instance, searches found no explosive material.
Police have not disclosed details about the source of the email but said an investigation is under way to trace its origin.
