Patna: Citizens from across the city brought their concerns to a public hearing organised at the headquarters of the Patna Municipal Corporation on Friday, with officials receiving 32 formal applications during the two-hour session.
The Jan-Sunwai, held between 1pm and 3pm, allowed residents to directly present complaints before the municipal commissioner. According to officials, each case was heard individually, with assurances that appropriate steps would be taken under established procedures.
Of the 32 applications submitted, 12 were related to the establishment branch, while four concerned payment matters. Two cases were linked to the directorate branch and another two to centrally sponsored schemes. Eight complaints were related to the engineering branch, and four fell under other categories, officials said.
The commissioner directed concerned departments to act in accordance with rules and maintain transparency while addressing the issues. Officials have also been asked to monitor the progress of each case and conduct regular reviews to ensure timely resolution.
The municipal corporation appealed to residents to use official channels to register grievances for quicker and more systematic action. Apart from in-person hearings, citizens can file complaints through the toll-free number 155304 or by sending “Hi” to the corporation’s WhatsApp chatbot at +91 9264447449.
