Patna: An official from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) inspected the construction site of the Danapur–Bihta Elevated Road project on Thursday to review progress and accelerate work on the key infrastructure corridor.
N L Yevatkar, the regional officer of NHAI, visited several sections of the project and conducted a detailed assessment of the construction status, quality standards and overall progress.
During the inspection, officials briefed him on ongoing construction activities, structural development, traffic management arrangements and other technical aspects of the project.
Yevatkar emphasised the need to maintain the pace of construction while ensuring that the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe. He also directed officials and construction agencies to address any challenges or bottlenecks promptly to avoid delays.
He stressed that safety standards at the construction site must be strictly followed and that there should be no compromise on the quality of work.
Officials said the Danapur–Bihta Elevated Road is considered a crucial infrastructure project for the region, expected to ease traffic congestion between Patna and its western suburbs.
Once completed, the elevated corridor is expected to improve connectivity between Danapur, Bihta and surrounding areas, benefiting commuters, residents and commercial activities.
Project director Arvind Kumar was present during the inspection and briefed the regional officer about the work completed so far and the upcoming phases of the project.
Representatives of the construction company were also present at the site and provided details about ongoing activities and the progress achieved in different sections of the corridor.
At the end of the visit, Yevatkar instructed officials and agencies involved in the project to work in close coordination so that the elevated road can be completed on schedule and made available for public use at the earliest.
