Patna: The long-discussed relationship between Bhojpuri actors Pawan Singh and Akshara Singh has resurfaced in public conversation after actor Monalisa spoke about the pair during a recent podcast interview.
In the interview, Monalisa reflected on the atmosphere within the Bhojpuri film industry during the period when the two stars were working together frequently. She said that tensions linked to personal disputes sometimes affected the working environment on film sets.
According to the actor, rumours of arguments between Singh and Akshara Singh circulated widely within the industry at the time, often involving disagreements behind the scenes.
“Both of them were largely occupied with their own personal issues during that period,” Monalisa said, adding that there were frequent rumours about arguments taking place in vanity vans.
However, she stressed that she never tried to investigate the details of such disputes and preferred to focus on her own work.
“I always stayed away from personal matters. My only focus was my work,” she said.
Industry rumours and speculation
Monalisa also spoke about the culture of speculation that often surrounds actors in the Bhojpuri film industry. She said rumours about relationships between co-stars were common, particularly when two actors appeared together in multiple films.
“If two artists work together repeatedly, people often assume they are in a relationship,” she said.
The actor added that similar rumours had circulated about her as well during different phases of her career, but she chose not to take them seriously.
Early career experiences
During the conversation, Monalisa also spoke candidly about the early stages of her career, when she appeared in several low-budget films that required the shooting of intimate scenes.
She said there were occasions when co-actors became overly aggressive during such sequences, but clarified that Pawan Singh had never behaved inappropriately with her.
“He always behaved professionally with me,” she said.

The on-screen pairing of Pawan Singh and Akshara Singh was once among the most popular in the Bhojpuri film industry. The two actors worked together in several films and their chemistry attracted a strong fan following.
However, their professional and personal relationship later deteriorated. In previous interviews, Akshara Singh had made serious allegations against Pawan Singh and spoken about difficult experiences during that period.
