Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation has urged property owners in the city to clear their pending property tax dues as only fifteen days remain for the ongoing One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme. The scheme allows residents to settle outstanding dues before March 31, 2026, after which additional interest and penalties will be imposed according to municipal rules.
Officials said the scheme aims to encourage taxpayers to clear their pending liabilities within the stipulated period. Property holders who fail to make payments before the deadline will be required to pay the outstanding amount along with applicable charges, the corporation said.
To make the payment process easier, the civic body has extended the working hours of all property tax collection counters across the city. Tax counters will now remain open from 7am to 9pm, and services will continue on holidays as well to provide more opportunities for residents to complete their payments.
Meanwhile, enforcement teams of the Patna Municipal Corporation have intensified field operations against major defaulters. For the third consecutive day, teams started field inspections at 9am and collected around Rs 50 lakh in pending property tax from large defaulters. Officials warned that strict action will continue against those who fail to clear their dues within the deadline.
The corporation has also expanded digital options for payment. Residents can now pay their property tax through a WhatsApp chatbot by sending a message to 9264447449, which offers 24-hour services including tax payment and self-assessment. The system provides an instant digital receipt without any additional charges.
Citizens can also book an appointment for property tax assessment or reassessment by calling the toll-free number 155304. After a slot is booked, municipal officials will visit the residence or establishment to conduct door-to-door verification and complete the assessment process.
Apart from the chatbot facility, property tax can be paid online through the official portal of the Patna Municipal Corporation. Payments are also accepted through UPI platforms such as Paytm, PhonePe and Google Pay, while offline payments can be made at the municipal headquarters and circle offices across the city. Municipal teams are also visiting wards daily from 7am to 9pm to assist residents with property tax collection.
