The event formed part of the nationwide Fit India Movement, which aims to encourage citizens to incorporate fitness and sports into their daily routines.
Bihar Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh attended as chief guest and was welcomed by Someshwar Rao Chavan, centre head of the Sports Authority of India in Patna.
Other guests included M Ramachandrudu, director of census, Ajay Kumar of the Bihar Olympic Association, and Rakesh Acharya.
Addressing participants, Minister Singh urged people to make basic fitness activities part of their daily routine. She said regular physical exercise was essential for maintaining a healthy and active life.

“Fit India is not merely a campaign but a people’s movement towards building a healthy and strong nation,” she said, adding that such initiatives helped spread awareness about fitness and inspired young people to take up sports.
The programme began with a Zumba session involving participants from different age groups, followed by the formal inauguration marked by the ceremonial lighting of a lamp.
Athletes later presented demonstrations in disciplines including Taekwondo, Wushu and Yoga. Several sports associations also organised road demonstrations aimed at raising public awareness of sports and physical activity.
Stalls showcasing various sporting activities were set up at the venue, including Mallakhamb, Gymnastics, Atya-Patya, Skating, Basketball, Sepak Takraw and fitness activities such as Zumba and mini gym sessions.
Following the inauguration, Singh visited the sports stalls and interacted with athletes and participants, encouraging them in their sporting pursuits.
Organisers said the carnival concluded successfully, reinforcing the goals of the Fit India Movement and encouraging citizens to adopt regular physical activity as part of a healthier lifestyle.
