Patna: The Bihar education department has set up a high-level committee to examine and regulate the transfer of teachers across primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary schools in the state.
According to an official statement issued on Friday, the committee will be chaired by the education secretary, with the director of secondary education serving as member secretary. Other members include the director of primary education, the regional deputy director (Saharsa), the state project director, and the deputy director of secondary education.
The panel has been tasked with framing policies, rules and standards governing teacher transfers, alongside addressing existing challenges in deployment. It will also prepare a detailed framework aimed at rationalising the distribution of teachers across schools.
The committee has been given a deadline of 15 days to submit its report to the department. Officials said the move is intended to ensure a more balanced allocation of teaching staff and improve the functioning of government schools across Bihar.
