Patna: The Patna district administration has launched an awareness drive to inform domestic LPG consumers about booking procedures, doorstep delivery and eKYC facilities, while assuring residents that there is no shortage of cooking gas in the district.
Acting on the directions of the District Magistrate, Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started using garbage collection vehicles to spread awareness across neighbourhoods. Through public announcements, residents are being informed about the process of booking LPG cylinders, receiving deliveries at home, completing eKYC from home and accessing helpline services.
District officials said the initiative aims to prevent panic among consumers and discourage unnecessary crowding at gas agencies.
According to the district administration, Patna has a total of 136 LPG gas agencies serving around 16,65,360 domestic LPG consumers. Authorities said sufficient stock of LPG is available with distributors and oil marketing companies, and there is no disruption in supply.
The administration clarified that consumers are not facing any difficulty in booking or receiving cylinders and appealed to residents not to engage in panic booking. Domestic LPG consumers have been advised to avoid gathering at gas agency outlets or standing in queues.
Officials said LPG refills can be booked from home, and domestic cylinders are being delivered directly to consumers’ doorsteps by oil marketing companies.
The administration also urged citizens not to pay attention to misleading or unverified information circulating about LPG supply and to rely only on official updates.
Dr. Thiyagarajan S M, District Magistrate Patna, said the entire administrative machinery is alert to ensure transparent and smooth supply of domestic LPG in the district.
Residents facing any issue related to LPG supply can contact the District LPG Gas Helpline, which is operational 24×7, at 0612-2219810 for assistance, the administration said.
