Patna: Weather patterns across Bihar have been fluctuating in recent days, with residents experiencing sharp sunshine during the day and mild coolness in the morning and evening. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather in the state is expected to remain largely normal on Wednesday, with light winds likely to blow during the early and late hours of the day.
However, strong sunlight during the afternoon may cause a noticeable rise in daytime heat, making conditions uncomfortable for people stepping outdoors.
At present, the IMD has not issued any alert for rain or storm activity in the state. However, a yellow alert has been issued for March 27 across all districts of Bihar. During this period, strong winds are likely to blow and there is also a possibility of lightning in some areas.
Meteorologists said temperatures are expected to rise significantly after March 31, which could make daytime heat more intense. The impact of the western disturbance affecting the region is expected to weaken, leading to clearer skies. With fewer clouds, direct solar radiation will reach the ground, causing a rapid increase in temperatures across the state.
Why the weather is changing
According to weather scientists, Bihar is currently experiencing a mild influence of a western disturbance along with a local weather system. As a result, wind directions are frequently changing, creating unstable weather conditions.
During the day, strong solar radiation is pushing temperatures upward, while northwesterly cool winds in the morning and evening are bringing slight relief. This combination is causing residents to feel both heat during the day and mild coolness during early and late hours.
Patna may see temperature touch 33°C
In the state capital Patna, the weather is expected to remain clear on Wednesday. Light winds in the morning and evening may provide some relief, but strong sunshine in the afternoon is likely to increase heat levels.
The maximum temperature in Patna is expected to hover around 33 degrees Celsius. As of now, there is no forecast of rainfall in the city.
