Patna: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar appeared at a Ram Navami event in central Patna today, where he was joined on stage by his son Nishant Kumar and several senior NDA leaders as processions converged at Dak Bungalow intersection.
The celebrations, held at a makeshift stage near Shri Ram Chowk, saw tableaux organised by 52 local puja committees moving through the city before gathering at the venue. Leaders including state deputy chief ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with BJP national president Nitin Nabin and other party representatives, were present on stage.
As Nitish Kumar arrived, sections of the crowd raised slogans of “Jai Shri Ram”. Nabin, who is attending the event in his current role as BJP state president, received and facilitated the arrival of tableaux at the stage area.

Weather conditions in the morning were marked by high temperatures, but a change later in the day brought light rain and wind, easing conditions for attendees and participants.
Authorities have estimated a large turnout at the site, with continuing inflow of visitors throughout the day. Security arrangements include the deployment of around 1,500 police personnel across the area to manage crowds and maintain order.
