Bodh Gaya: The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya has begun a five-day international executive programme for a delegation from Vietnam, aimed at strengthening leadership skills in an increasingly volatile global environment.
The course, titled “Leadership and Management Skills in the BANI Era”, is being conducted in collaboration with India’s Ministry of External Affairs under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation initiative, which facilitates capacity-building and international cooperation.
Eighteen delegates from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, led by Prof Hoàng Phúc Lâm, are participating in the programme, which brings together academic learning and cross-cultural exchange.
Opening the programme, the institute’s director, Vinita S Sahay, welcomed the delegation and highlighted the importance of equipping leaders to respond to what is often described as a “BANI” world — one that is brittle, anxious, non-linear and incomprehensible. Programme director Prof Teena Bharti said the curriculum was designed to move beyond traditional models of control towards fostering clarity and resilience amid uncertainty.
The programme includes sessions on mission-driven leadership, personal effectiveness and human capital development, alongside discussions on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, climate goals and shifting geopolitical dynamics. Participants will also explore India–Vietnam strategic relations as part of the academic agenda.
As part of a cultural immersion component, the delegation is scheduled to visit the Mahabodhi Temple and the ancient ruins of Nalanda, offering insight into India’s philosophical and historical traditions.
Organisers said the initiative reflects deepening ties between India and Vietnam, combining institutional collaboration with broader diplomatic engagement, and aims to prepare participants to lead with greater awareness and adaptability in a rapidly changing global landscape.
