Bihar Environment Secretary Visits Valmiki Tiger Reserve, Plants Saplings to Promote Conservation
Bagaha: Bandana Preyashi, Secretary of the Department of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Bihar, conducted a significant visit to the Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) in West Champaran district on Monday. The visit aimed to assess the current status of the reserve and to reinforce ongoing conservation initiatives for the wildlife and their habitats within the area.
During the visit, VTR Field Director Dr. Nesamani K. and Forest Division Officer-1 Pradyumn Gaurav provided Secretary Preyashi with a detailed briefing on the reserve’s operations and challenges. The visit was crucial in understanding the ecological conditions and strengthening efforts to protect the reserve’s flora and fauna.
In a symbolic gesture under the “Ek Paudha Maa Ke Naam” campaign, Secretary Preyashi planted saplings within the reserve. She urged the public to participate in this initiative by planting and nurturing trees, emphasizing that the campaign not only serves as a critical step towards environmental conservation but also as a meaningful tribute to mothers.
