Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board has extended the deadline for filling out forms for the Intermediate compartment and special examinations to April 6, 2026, offering relief to Class 12 students.
The decision comes as a major opportunity for students who were unable to complete the application process earlier due to technical issues or other reasons.
Under the revised schedule, students who failed in one or two subjects can appear for the compartment exam to save their academic year. Meanwhile, those who could not appear in the main examination due to issues such as missing admit cards or technical errors can opt for the special examination.
Officials said the move is aimed at ensuring that no student loses an entire academic year due to unforeseen circumstances or minor lapses.
The board has advised students not to wait until the last date and to complete the process through their respective schools to avoid last-minute technical problems or server issues.
The application process will be completed by paying the regular examination fee prescribed by the board.
According to officials, the special examination is particularly beneficial for students whose registration was valid but who were unable to sit for the main exam. Clearing this exam will allow them to pursue higher education in the same academic year.
After the completion of the application process, admit cards are expected to be released soon. Sources indicate that the examinations are likely to be conducted in the last week of April or early May.
