Patna: Direct flight services between Darbhanga and Bengaluru resumed on Sunday, offering long-awaited relief to passengers from Bihar’s Mithilanchal region.
The route is now being operated by Akasa Air, which has introduced daily flights connecting the two cities. The service eliminates the need for travellers to transit through Patna or Kolkata to reach Bengaluru.
According to the schedule, the flight departs Bengaluru at 9:40am and arrives in Darbhanga at 12:15pm. The return journey begins from Darbhanga at 12:50pm, with the aircraft landing in Bengaluru at 3:30pm.
The resumption of services comes after a period of disruption that had affected connectivity on the route, causing inconvenience to passengers. Earlier, SpiceJet operated flights on this sector, but services were often inconsistent.
With the introduction of regular operations by Akasa Air, officials and stakeholders expect improved connectivity to benefit not only passengers but also businesses in North Bihar. The move is likely to facilitate trade, enhance mobility and open up new economic opportunities in the region.
Travel agents said bookings have picked up across online platforms, reflecting strong demand for direct connectivity between Darbhanga and Bengaluru.
