IIT Guwahati Teams Sweep Top Three Spots At NICE-26 North East Zone Grand Finale

IIT Guwahati students secured the first three positions at the NICE-26 North East Zone Grand Finale, which brought together more than 10 selected teams from across the region.

Students from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati secured all three top positions at the NICE-26 North East Zone Grand Finale, which saw participation from more than 10 qualified and selected teams.

The competition brought together young participants from across the region to test their knowledge, analytical abilities and problem-solving skills. The finale was marked by intense competition and a strong display of intellectual talent.

Shrawon Dey and Gowtham Krishna Katakam of IIT Guwahati won the first position in the North East Zone Grand Finale.

The second position went to Baidurya Ghosh and Atin Gupta, also from IIT Guwahati, while Yuktha Sree Kunireddy and Ipshita Garg secured the third position.

Distinguished Guests Attend Event

The event was attended by Prasanta Sagar Changmai, IPS, Inspector General, Fire and Emergency Services, who was the Chief Guest.

Professor P. K. Iyer from the Department of Chemistry at IIT Guwahati attended as the Distinguished Guest, while entrepreneur Runa Rafique joined the programme as the Guest of Honour.

The programme was organised under the aegis of Extra-C at Hall One of the Conference Hall. Raj Narayan Singh, National Coordinator, coordinated and conducted the event.

Focus On Knowledge-Based Learning

The competition provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities in a competitive environment, while highlighting growing interest among young people in knowledge-based learning and intellectual competitions.

The organisers said the participation reflected the enthusiasm of students towards platforms that encourage analytical thinking, knowledge development and problem-solving.

The event was supported by the Bihar Foundation and Central Bank of India. Their support, according to the organisers, contributed to providing students with a platform to participate in educational and competitive activities.

Extra-C expressed gratitude to the participating teams, institutions, guests, partners and supporters involved in organising the NICE-26 North East Zone Grand Finale.
