Patna: A change in weather conditions has been observed across Bihar due to the combined influence of a western disturbance and moist winds coming from the Bay of Bengal. Meteorologists say an active cyclonic circulation over the region has created atmospheric instability, leading to cloudy skies and the possibility of thunderstorms in several parts of the state.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Patna, most areas of Bihar are likely to witness partly cloudy conditions accompanied by thunder and lightning over the next three to four days. The department has also warned of strong winds reaching speeds of 50–60 km per hour, along with the possibility of hailstorms in isolated areas.
Light rainfall is expected in Patna and nearby districts, while weather activity is likely to intensify on April 8 and 9, officials said.
The India Meteorological Department has also issued an advisory for farmers, urging them to harvest crops at the earliest and ensure proper storage. Farmers have been advised to keep harvested crops in safe places to prevent damage from strong winds, rain, or hail.
Over the past 24 hours, Nalanda recorded strong winds with speeds reaching 63 km per hour. Several other parts of the state experienced light to moderate winds.
In Patna and adjoining areas, the weather remained largely normal on Monday with partly cloudy skies and moist winds. The maximum temperature in Patna was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius, while Bhabua registered the highest temperature in the state at 35.8 degrees Celsius.
