Patna: The Tourism Department of Bihar has approved a project to construct replicas of the Seven Wonders of the World in Silaunja, near Bodh Gaya, aiming to create a new attraction for tourists. The scheme, with an estimated cost of Rs 14.85 crore, has received administrative approval and will be implemented by the Forest Division Gaya over the next 24 months.
According to Tourism Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh, the project will feature replicas of the Pyramid of Giza, The Colosseum, Taj Mahal, The Great Wall of China, Petra, Moal Chile, and Christ the Redeemer. The plan includes basic site development, the construction of pathways, and the installation of lighting to enhance the visitor experience at the new tourist site.
This initiative is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to promote experience-based tourism in the state. Silaunja’s new tourist attraction will provide an additional draw for both domestic and international tourists visiting Bodh Gaya, which is a key destination within the Buddhist circuit.
The site, covering approximately 40 acres, is expected to boost the local economy by generating employment opportunities for residents. The project aims to develop the area further, ensuring that the new attraction becomes a focal point for visitors to Bodh Gaya and the nearby Vishnupad temple in Gaya.
