Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission has released the admit cards for the 71st Combined Competitive Main Examination, bringing relief and urgency for thousands of candidates preparing for one of Bihar’s most competitive recruitment processes. According to the commission, candidates will be able to download their e-admit cards from April 17, 2026, through the official website. The written examination is scheduled to take place from April 25 to April 30, giving aspirants a narrow window to finalise their preparations.
The commission has made it clear that the admit cards will be available only in online mode and will not be sent by post. Candidates must log in to the official portal using their username and password to access and download the document. While the admit card will include the centre code, detailed information about the exact examination venue will be released separately on the candidate dashboard from April 22. Officials have advised candidates to check all details carefully after downloading to avoid any issues on the day of the exam.
In addition to the download process, the commission has issued strict guidelines for exam day. Candidates are required to carry two printed copies of their admit card to the examination centre. One copy will need to be signed in front of the invigilator and submitted during the exam. Entry to the examination hall will be strictly based on the reporting time mentioned on the admit card, and no latecomers will be allowed under any circumstances. Candidates have therefore been urged to reach their centres well in advance.
The scale of competition remains intense this year. A total of 471,012 candidates had registered for the examination, out of which 316,762 appeared in the preliminary stage. After a rigorous selection process, only 14,261 candidates have qualified for the main examination. These candidates will now compete for 1,298 vacancies across various state government departments, making the upcoming exam a crucial step towards securing a government job in Bihar.
