Patna: Bihar’s newly sworn-in chief minister, Samrat Choudhary, has moved quickly to assert his administration’s priorities, warning officials that negligence will not be tolerated and directing departments to meet strict deadlines for completing development work.
Moments after taking the oath of office, Choudhary headed to the state secretariat to formally assume charge, signalling an intent to begin governance at pace. In his first high-level meeting with senior bureaucrats, including principal secretaries from multiple departments, he stressed the need for rapid execution and accountability across government.
The chief minister instructed officials to accelerate stalled projects and ensure their timely completion, underlining that administrative delays would not be acceptable. He also called for streamlined processes to address public grievances more efficiently, saying citizens should not have to repeatedly visit government offices to resolve complaints.
Choudhary identified roads, healthcare, education and law and order as priority sectors requiring immediate attention, noting their direct impact on daily life. He directed departments to adhere strictly to deadlines and warned that any lapse in delivering public services would be taken seriously.
Emphasising transparency and integrity, the chief minister urged officials to remain accountable at every level. He also encouraged the use of technology to improve service delivery and expedite the rollout of new government schemes.
The early directives indicate an administration focused on speed and delivery, as Choudhary seeks to inject momentum into Bihar’s development agenda.
