Patna: A new and exciting attraction is set to come up at Patna Zoo, giving visitors a completely different way to explore wildlife and nature. Bihar’s first ‘Tree-Top Walkway’ is planned to be built inside the famous zoo in Patna. The project aims to offer people an adventurous experience where they can walk above the ground and watch animals and greenery from a height of around 15 feet. Officials believe this new feature will not only make the zoo more attractive but also boost tourism in Bihar.
People visiting Patna Zoo in the coming months may get to enjoy the beauty of the zoo from an entirely new angle. The walkway will allow visitors to move through the trees and experience the surroundings from the canopy level. Walking among the branches while spotting animals below is expected to create a thrilling and memorable experience. Such walkways are popular in many tourist destinations, and now Bihar is preparing to introduce one for the first time.
The project has already reached the planning stage. Anand Kishor, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, said that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been completed and sent to the Central Zoo Authority for approval. Once the authority gives the green signal, construction work is likely to begin soon. Officials are hopeful that approval may come within this month.
According to reports, the tree-top walkway will be made mostly of wood and will be around 16 feet wide. In the first phase, it will stretch about 100 metres in length and connect two huge Ceylon Oak trees inside the zoo. The path will also pass through several other trees, making the journey feel like a real forest adventure. The estimated cost of the entire project is around Rs 2 crore.
The new attraction is expected to become one of the biggest highlights of Patna Zoo once completed. Nature lovers, families and children are likely to be especially excited about this unique experience. With this project, Bihar is taking a fresh step towards promoting eco-tourism and offering visitors something new and memorable.
