Patna: The Bihar government has released Rs 1,050 crore for the payment of salaries to teachers working under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), covering dues for April and May, officials said.
The allocation was approved by the Education Department and communicated through an official notification, with the Accountant General also informed of the release.
Salaries For Teachers Across Cadres
Officials said the funds will be used to pay teachers employed under Panchayati Raj institutions and urban local bodies, as well as headmasters and district cadre teachers working in upgraded middle schools under the SSA framework.
The release is part of a previously sanctioned amount of Rs 1,054 crore, of which Rs 1,050 crore has now been disbursed.
District-Wise Allocation Issued
The department has also circulated a district-wise breakup of the funds, enabling local authorities to process salary payments.
Officials said the allocation has been calculated based on the estimated requirement for one month’s salary, in line with provisions of the Bihar Education Project Council.
Payments Expected Soon
Authorities indicated that the disbursement process will begin shortly, ensuring timely payment of salaries to eligible teachers across the state.
The move is expected to provide relief to thousands of teachers awaiting their dues under the centrally sponsored education scheme.
