Bhagalpur/Patna: Chief secretary Pratyay Amrit on Saturday visited the under-construction Pirpainti power plant in Bhagalpur district, where he reviewed the progress of work and directed officials to ensure timely completion of the project.
The visit included an inspection of the construction site and a review meeting with the project management team. Officials discussed the current status of work, future plans and potential challenges linked to the development.
Push For Faster Construction
Amrit asked officials to accelerate the pace of construction and strengthen coordination between departments involved in the project.
He also stressed the need to ensure all required government support so that the project gets completed on schedule.
Focus On Power Supply
Rahul Kumar, managing director of Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited, said the Bihar government remained committed to improving electricity supply across the state.
He said the timely completion of the Pirpainti power plant would increase electricity availability, generate employment opportunities and support industrial growth in the region.
Senior Officials Present

Those present during the visit included Shirsat Kapil Ashok, managing director of Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited; Pankaj Kumar Pal, secretary of the road construction department; Bhagalpur district magistrate Nawal Kishor Choudhary; and senior superintendent of police Pramod Kumar Yadav, along with other senior officials.
Project Background
The 2,400MW ultra-supercritical mega power plant is being developed by the Adani Group at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district.
