Patna: Prashant Kishor, former poll strategist and convenor of Jan Suraaj campaign, on Wednesday expressed concerns about the perception prevailing in society that leaders or politicians not affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are often subjected to inquiries by agencies such as the ED and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Kishor’s reaction came in response to queries from reporters at Madhubani that Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, has been called by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to appear before it on November 2 about the alleged Delhi liquor scam. Kejriwal has been called before the central agency to provide a statement by the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
While responding to the questions in a press conference at Madhubani during his ongoing statewide Padytra, Kishor, said: “The public has no concern if ED-CBI is finding out the people and the leaders involved in corruption and punishing them. The major problem concerning them is that the same leaders on whom the raid has been probed by CBI, when joining BJP, all the charges get discharged. If someone has done something wrong or has been involved in illegal activities, then they should definitely be kept on watch. “
He further said that lets assume that only the leaders of the opposition party are involved in corruption, all the BJP leaders are honest and clean, but when the same leaders from the opposition party join the BJP, they come out clean. “Society should be bothered about the fact that these parties bluff the public
He also addressed the BJP as “Washing Machine” and said that the government is using these agencies to frighten people so that no one could stand against them in a democratic setup.
