Patna: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will begin the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026 from Monday. The examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and will continue till May 31 across multiple centres in India and abroad.
According to the NTA, the examination is being held not only at centres across the country but also in 14 international cities spread across 13 countries, including Dubai, Sharjah, Riyadh, Singapore, and Washington DC.
A total of 15,68,866 candidates have registered for the entrance examination this year. Students were allowed to choose up to five subjects, resulting in more than 67.56 lakh test instances being scheduled.
Considering the large number of candidates and subject combinations, the examination has been divided into 35 shifts over a span of 21 days.
The NTA stated that nearly 43 percent of the total registrations have come from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Delhi alone, highlighting the significant participation from these regions.
English emerged as the most preferred subject, with around 12.64 lakh candidates opting for it, followed by Chemistry and Physics.
The agency also informed that 96.6 percent of candidates have been allotted one of their preferred examination cities, while nearly 79 percent received their first-choice city allocation.
For candidates whose examination centres were changed, the NTA has issued revised admit cards. Students have been advised to carefully check their updated admit cards and examination details before appearing for the test.
