Gaya: The Magadh University administration on Friday held a meeting at its Bodh Gaysa headquarters to review the implementation of the Samarth portal, a digital platform aimed at streamlining administrative and academic functions in higher education institutions.
The meeting was conducted at the auditorium of the university’s mathematics department and was chaired by vice-chancellor Prof Shashi Pratap Shahi.
Faculty deans, department heads, principals of constituent and affiliated colleges, university officials and nodal officers associated with the portal attended the discussion.

Nine modules implemented so far
University officials reviewed the current status of the Samarth portal and discussed its role in improving transparency and efficiency in university operations.
According to the officials, nine out of the 44 modules available under the portal have already been implemented at Magadh University.
Officials said the 10th module, related to the admission process, will be fully integrated with the Samarth portal from 2026 following directions from the vice-chancellor.
Payroll and pension services already digitised
The university said several administrative functions, including payroll, salary, pension, RTI and fleet management systems, have already been shifted to the digital platform.
Officials stated that the portal is expected to make university processes more transparent, accountable and accessible for students, teachers and staff members.
The administration added that online services through the platform would help ensure timely delivery of institutional services.
Vice-chancellor calls for coordinated implementation
During the meeting, Prof. Shahi urged principals, department heads and university officials to actively support the implementation process.
He said coordinated efforts would be necessary to ensure the effective execution of the Bihar government’s initiative across universities in the state.
The meeting concluded with participation from senior academic and administrative officials involved in the rollout of the portal.
