Gaya/Patna: Senior professor Dilip Kumar Kesari has been appointed to oversee the office of the vice-chancellor at Magadh University, according to a notification issued by the Lok Bhavan Secretariat.
The notification stated that Prof Kesari will function as the acting vice-chancellor until a permanent appointment is made or until further orders are issued.

Administrative responsibilities assigned
Officials said Prof Kesari has been entrusted with handling the university’s routine administrative and academic functions during the interim period.
However, the notification clarified that prior approval from the Lok Bhavan Secretariat would be required before taking any major policy or administrative decisions.
Appointment follows end of previous VC’s tenure
The appointment comes after the completion of the tenure of former vice-chancellor Prof Shashi Pratap Shahi. Since the end of his term, the university had been functioning under interim administrative arrangements.
The state government has now assigned Prof Kesari the responsibility of managing the university’s affairs until a regular vice-chancellor is appointed.
Expectations of administrative continuity
The appointment has triggered discussions within academic and administrative circles at the university. Faculty members and employees are viewing the move as an attempt to ensure continuity in administration and academic functioning.
People associated with the university said they expect pending administrative and academic matters to move forward during Prof Kesari’s tenure.
