Saran/Patna: Two Bihar cadre IAS officers including Saran district Magistrate Vaibhav Srivastava and Siwan DM Vivek Ranjan Maitreya have been included in the “Best District Magistrates 2026” list released by Fame India magazine and Asia Post.
The survey identified 100 district magistrates from across the country for their administrative performance and governance initiatives. Bihar secured eight places in the national list.
Assessment across nearly 800 districts
According to information released by Fame India, the rankings were prepared after a detailed assessment of district administrations across nearly 800 districts in India.
The evaluation process included ground reports, media analysis, public participation, developmental work and administrative achievements.
Recognition for public-oriented administration
Srivastava and Maitreya were recognised for their work in public welfare, prompt decision-making and citizen-focused administration.
The survey noted their efforts towards administrative innovation and initiatives linked to public concerns in their respective districts.
Governance and transparency key criteria
Officials were evaluated on parameters including good governance, transparency, accountability, public communication, innovation and development-oriented administration.
