Bodh Gaya: The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) held a meeting at a private hotel in Bodh Gaya on Wednesday to discuss issues related to tourism development and strategies to attract more visitors to the Buddhist pilgrimage town.
Representatives from the Bodh Gaya Travels Association, hotel industry and other tourism-related businesses participated in the meeting. Discussions focused on improving tourism infrastructure, enhancing visitor facilities and promoting the local tourism sector.
Sunil Kumar Singh, chairman of the Bihar chapter of IATO, said Bodh Gaya holds an important place on the international tourism map. He said stronger coordination among local tour operators, hotel owners and the administration would be necessary to increase the number of domestic and international tourists visiting the town.
Focus on infrastructure and promotion
Participants raised concerns related to tourism development, including inadequate publicity, infrastructure gaps and the need for improved facilities for visitors. Several attendees shared suggestions on how to strengthen tourism services and improve the overall visitor experience.
Tourist Information Officer Manmohan Kumar, Travels Association president Sandeep Kumar, secretary Rajiv Ranjan, Mrityunjay Kumar Rai, Ranjan Kumar, Brajesh Kumar and Sahendra Singh were among those present at the meeting, along with other tourism stakeholders.
