Patna: The Bihar State Sports Authority (BSSA) has launched a recruitment drive for 17 contractual positions at the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence operating from the Rajgir State Sports Academy.
Applications opened on June 5, with officials inviting eligible candidates from across the country to apply for a range of technical, medical and sports science roles aimed at strengthening the state’s high-performance sports ecosystem.
Details regarding eligibility criteria, qualifications and the application process have been made available through the designated recruitment portal.
Vacancies Across Multiple Disciplines
According to BSSA Director General Ravindran Sankaran, the vacancies cover a broad spectrum of sports management and athlete-support services.
The authority is seeking to fill one position each for High-Performance Director, Physiologist (Grade I), Physiologist (Grade II) and Sports Nutritionist.
Three positions are available for Sports Masseurs, with at least one post reserved for a woman candidate.
Additional vacancies include one position each for Doctor, Nurse, Yoga Instructor, Strength and Conditioning Lead, Strength and Conditioning Expert and Psychologist.
The authority is also recruiting three Physiotherapists, including one position reserved for a woman.
Focus On High-Performance Sports
Officials said the appointments are intended to strengthen athlete support systems at the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence, which serves as Bihar’s premier training facility for elite sportspersons.
The centre provides specialised coaching, sports science support and performance development programmes under the Khelo India initiative.
The recruitment of experts in sports medicine, nutrition, psychology and conditioning is expected to enhance the quality of services available to athletes training at the academy.
Selection Through Scrutiny And Interviews
Sankaran said applications submitted through the portal would undergo scrutiny before shortlisted candidates are invited for interviews.
Successful candidates will be appointed on a contractual basis and will work at the Rajgir centre.
“If interested candidates fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria, they can apply through the portal. Applications will be scrutinised, shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews, and appointments will be made on a contractual basis,” he said.
The recruitment drive comes as Bihar continues to expand its sports infrastructure and athlete development programmes, with the Rajgir academy emerging as a key centre for high-performance training in the state.
