Patna: The Bihar Combined Entrance Test for BEd admissions (CET-BEd 2026) will be conducted across the state on Sunday, 7 June. Administrative preparations for the examination are in the final stage, with authorities focusing on ensuring a smooth and fair process.

According to official figures, a total of 1,23,237 candidates have registered for the entrance examination, which is required for admission to the state’s two-year BEd programme.

Women candidates outnumber men

Registration data shows a higher participation of women candidates this year.

Of the total applicants, 77,263 are women and 45,970 are men. The examination will be conducted simultaneously at 180 centres located across 11 cities in Bihar.

Multi-layered monitoring in place

Muzaffarpur, one of the major examination hubs in north Bihar, will host 26 examination centres.

To oversee the conduct of the examination, authorities have implemented a three-tier monitoring system. Eleven special observers appointed by the Governor’s Secretariat will be deployed across the examination cities.

In addition, 180 university observers and 120 flying squad teams will conduct inspections and monitor centres for any irregularities.

Jammers deployed to prevent malpractice

Authorities have activated high-tech signal jammers at 164 examination centres, with installation underway at the remaining venues.

Once operational, the jammers will block mobile networks, internet connectivity and Bluetooth devices inside examination halls. The administration has also deployed 60 magistrate-cum-coordinating observers to maintain law and order.

‘Zero tolerance’ approach to irregularities

Prof Dinesh Chandra Rai, Vice-Chancellor of the nodal university, has directed officials and centre superintendents to ensure strict adherence to examination guidelines.

Officials said a zero-tolerance policy would be followed against any form of malpractice or negligence during the examination. District administrations have also issued local instructions regarding security arrangements.

Special train under consideration

Authorities are considering running a special train for candidates travelling from the Champaran region, particularly from Bettiah and Motihari.

University and district officials have reportedly approached railway authorities to facilitate transportation for candidates travelling long distances to examination centres.
