Patna: The Indian Railways has introduced 65 digital display units and mobile charging kiosks across several major railway stations in Bihar as part of an effort to modernise passenger amenities and improve access to real-time travel information.
Stations Covered Under the Initiative
According to railway officials, the facilities have been installed at key stations including Patna Junction, Patliputra, Danapur, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Ara, Patna Sahib, Mokama and Jhajha. Work is underway to extend the system to additional stations across the state.
Officials said the initiative is part of a broader plan to upgrade passenger-facing infrastructure and reduce dependency on traditional enquiry systems.
Real-Time Train Information System
The newly installed digital displays provide passengers with live updates on train arrivals, departures, platform numbers and other travel-related details.
Railway authorities said the system is designed to reduce congestion at enquiry counters and improve access to timely information within station premises.
Mobile Charging Facilities
Each kiosk has been equipped with mobile charging points to assist passengers, particularly long-distance travellers, who often face difficulty accessing charging facilities at stations.
Officials said the addition is aimed at improving convenience and reducing travel-related inconvenience during waiting hours.
Push Towards Digital Services
Railways said the initiative reflects a continued focus on digitisation of services and improving passenger experience through technology-driven solutions.
Authorities added that similar facilities are planned for more stations in the coming months, as part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades across the network.
