Patna: Consumers across Bihar will have to pay more for household cooking gas after Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) revised domestic LPG cylinder prices with effect from Sunday.
Under the new pricing structure, the cost of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs. 29, raising household fuel expenses for consumers.
New LPG rates in Patna
According to the revised rates, the price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder in Patna’s Jyoti Kalash Indane distributor area has increased from Rs. 1,011 to Rs. 1,040.
Consumers purchasing a refill from Saturday onwards will be charged the revised amount.
Smaller cylinders also covered under revised pricing
IOC has fixed the price of a 5-kg domestic LPG cylinder at Rs. 386.
The revised rates apply across both standard and smaller domestic cylinder categories, affecting a broad section of consumers.
Impact on household budgets
The increase comes at a time when households are already managing higher spending on essential goods and services.
While the revision is relatively modest on a per-cylinder basis, it is expected to add to monthly household expenditure, particularly for families that rely primarily on LPG for cooking.
Price revision effective immediately
The revised LPG prices came into force on Sunday and are being implemented by distributors from the date of notification.
Consumers booking refills after the revision are required to pay the updated rates.
