Patna: The Bihar government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle in the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, transferring 90 Circle Officers (COs), In-charge Circle Officers and Revenue Officers across the state.
The transfer notification was issued on Thursday and has come into effect immediately. The department has directed all transferred officials to assume charge at their new postings without being granted transit leave.
Immediate Joining Made Mandatory
According to the official order issued by Additional Secretary Ajiv Vatsraj, no transferred officer will be eligible for transit leave. All officials have been instructed to report to their new places of posting without delay.
District Magistrates have also been directed to relieve the concerned officers immediately and submit a compliance report to the department within one week.
Move Aimed at Strengthening Revenue Administration
The Revenue and Land Reforms Department said the large-scale transfer exercise is intended to improve the efficiency of revenue administration and land-related services across Bihar.
Copies of the transfer order have been forwarded to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, the Chief Secretary, Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates and all concerned officials for immediate implementation.
New Circle Officers Posted in Key Locations
Several strategically important circles have received new Circle Officers under the latest reshuffle.
Sunil Kumar has been posted as the new Circle Officer of Motihari Sadar in East Champaran. Fresh appointments have also been made in Kalyanpur, Chakia, Chhauradano, Chiraiya and Madhuban.
In Nalanda district, new COs have been posted in Bihar Sharif, Hilsa and Chandi. Similar changes have been made in Tikari (Gaya), Chapra Sadar and Ekma (Saran), Sandesh and Jagdishpur (Bhojpur), and Narkatiaganj and Chanpatia (West Champaran), among several other circles.
Revenue Officers Assigned Higher Responsibilities
The transfer list also includes several Revenue Officers (ROs) and Kanungos who have now been entrusted with the responsibilities of Circle Officers.
The department believes the move will strengthen field-level administration while providing these officers with greater administrative experience.
Officers Across 26 Districts Affected
The reshuffle impacts officials serving in Araria, Arwal, Aurangabad, Banka, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur, Darbhanga, East Champaran, Gaya, Gopalganj, Jehanabad, Kaimur, Katihar, Kishanganj, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Nawada, Purnia, Rohtas, Samastipur, Saran, Sitamarhi, Siwan, Vaishali and West Champaran.
With the transfer of 90 officers, the state is expected to witness significant administrative changes in its revenue machinery in the coming days.
Order Effective Immediately
The department has reiterated that all transferred officers must join their new assignments within the stipulated time. District Magistrates have been instructed to ensure timely implementation and submit compliance reports to the government.
The newly posted officials are expected to assume charge of their respective circles over the next few days.
