Sitamarhi: A 12-year-old girl was seriously injured after her hair became entangled in a running generator during a wedding ceremony in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district on Sunday. The accident left her with severe scalp injuries, and she was later referred to Muzaffarpur for advanced medical treatment.
The incident occurred in Laxmipur Bhasar village under Dumra block. The injured girl has been identified as Rimjhim Kumari, daughter of Upendra Sah, a resident of the village.
According to family members, Rimjhim had gone to attend a wedding ceremony in the village and was watching the traditional “Aam-Mahua” wedding ritual. After standing for a long time, she reportedly felt tired and sat on a handcart carrying a generator that was operating nearby.
While sitting on the cart, her long hair was suddenly caught in the running generator, causing severe injuries to her scalp. The incident triggered panic among guests attending the wedding.
Family members and local residents immediately rushed the girl to Sitamarhi Sadar Hospital. After providing initial treatment, doctors referred her to a hospital in Muzaffarpur for specialised medical care due to the seriousness of her injuries.
Her condition remains critical, and further treatment is underway.
