Earthquake Tremors Rock Bihar, UP, Delhi- NCR
Patna: Late Friday evening brought an unsettling experience for residents across various districts in Bihar, particularly in the capital city of Patna, as the ground beneath them shivered due to earthquake tremors.
The seismic event, measuring 6.4 on the Richter Scale, with its epicenter in Nepal’s Karnali province, struck the region at approximately 11:32 pm. The tremors weren’t confined to Bihar alone; reports came in of the earth’s restlessness being felt as far as Delhi and the National Capital Region, as well as the neighbouring state of Uttar Pradesh.
The earthquake had a depth of 10km below the ground’s surface, but authorities have not reported any loss of life or property damage at the time of writing this report. Nevertheless, the unsettling experience prompted many to take to social media platforms to share their accounts of the tremors.
This event follows closely on the heels of another earthquake, registering at a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter Scale, with Nepal as its epicentre, which occurred on October 22. The earlier quake had left residents in several districts of Bihar and a few other neighbouring areas experiencing the seismic jolt, raising concerns about the region’s seismic activity.
