Patna: AIIMS Patna has inaugurated a state-of-the-art neonatal incubator donated by Axis Bank under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, in a move aimed at strengthening neonatal healthcare services at the institute.
The incubator, valued at Rs 22 lakh, was inaugurated on July 2 during a ceremony held at the Seminar Room of the Department of Neonatology.
Equipment To Support Critical Newborn Care
According to AIIMS Patna, the advanced neonatal incubator is designed to provide a controlled environment for premature and critically ill newborns.
The equipment is intended to help regulate body temperature, reduce the risk of infections, prevent excessive weight loss and support the growth and recovery of infants requiring specialised neonatal care.

Inauguration Ceremony Held At AIIMS Patna
The incubator was formally inaugurated by AIIMS Patna Director Prof. (Brig.) Dr Raju Agarwal and Axis Bank Circle Head (Bihar) Dheeraj Kumar Rai through a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The event was attended by Medical Superintendent Dr Prashant Kumar Singh, Deputy Director (Administration) Nilotpal Bal, Dr Bhabesh Kant Chowdhry, Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer Vishal Kumar, faculty members, senior residents, postgraduate students, nursing officers and staff.
Representatives from Axis Bank, including TASC Circle Head Vishal Kumar, Senior Manager Sumant Kumar, Cluster Head Bhagwati Kumar and Branch Head Pritam Sinha, also attended the programme.

Speaking at the event, Director Dr Raju Agarwal said Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives can play an important role in strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving patient care. He thanked Axis Bank for supporting AIIMS Patna’s efforts to provide advanced and equitable healthcare services, particularly for newborns requiring specialised treatment.
Dheeraj Kumar Rai said the bank was committed to continuing its collaboration with AIIMS Patna through future patient-focused CSR initiatives.

AIIMS Patna and Axis Bank said sustained collaboration between public institutions and the private sector could help strengthen healthcare delivery and expand access to specialised medical services.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Bhabesh Kant Chowdhry, who acknowledged Axis Bank’s contribution and thanked those involved in implementing the initiative.
