Patna: The Regional Passport Office (RPO), Patna, will organise a three-day Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp at the Collectorate Campus in Lakhisarai from July 21 to 23 as part of the Ministry of External Affairs’ citizen-centric initiative, “Passport Seva – Passport at Your Doorstep.”
The initiative aims to improve access to passport services by bringing them closer to citizens, particularly those living outside major urban centres. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the programme is aligned with the government’s broader vision of expanding public service delivery through accessible and decentralised governance.
Second Mobile Passport Camp in Lakhisarai
The upcoming camp will be the second Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp organised in Lakhisarai. The first camp, held from July 1 to 3, 2025, received a positive response from applicants.
Lakhisarai falls under the jurisdiction of the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK), Munger, which handles passport applications from the district. The Regional Passport Office said the new camp has been planned in view of the increasing number of passport applicants from the district and is being organised with the support of the district administration.

Camp to Be Inaugurated on July 21
The camp will be jointly inaugurated on July 21 by Shailendra Kumar, District Magistrate of Lakhisarai, and Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer, Patna.
Officials said the mobile passport service is intended to reduce the need for applicants to travel long distances for document verification and application processing.
Appointments Limited to 165 Applicants
The three-day camp has been planned to serve 165 applicants, with 55 appointment slots available each day.
Citizens wishing to apply for passport services can book appointments through the Passport Seva Portal by selecting “Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp – Lakhisarai” as their preferred appointment location.
Revised Passport Fees in Effect
The Regional Passport Office reminded applicants that the revised passport application fee, notified by the Ministry of External Affairs, came into effect on July 1, 2026.
The revised fee structure will apply to all passport applications submitted on or after that date.
Outreach Across Bihar
According to the Regional Passport Office, this will be the 19th Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp organised by RPO Patna since April 2024.
The office said nearly 2,500 passport applications have been processed through similar camps conducted across districts and institutions in Bihar, reflecting continued efforts to improve access to passport services across the state.
Digital Services and Official Advisories
The Ministry of External Affairs has also encouraged applicants to use DigiLocker to access and share eligible documents during the passport application process wherever applicable. Officials said the digital facility can reduce the need to carry physical documents and help speed up application processing.
Applicants have also been advised to rely only on official communication channels of the Regional Passport Office, Patna, for updates, public advisories and camp-related information, and to ensure all required documents are complete before attending their scheduled appointment.
