Bettiah: The District Education Office (DEO) in West Champaran has invited fresh applications from eligible teachers seeking benefits under the Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) Scheme, setting July 20, 2026, as the deadline for submission.
According to the Establishment Section of the DEO, teachers who have completed at least 10 years of satisfactory service by June 30, 2026, but have not yet received MACP benefits under the MACP-2010 scheme, are eligible to apply. The department has clarified that even teachers who submitted applications earlier must file fresh applications with updated information and supporting documents.
Eligibility Criteria
An order issued by District Programme Officer (Establishment) Kumar Anubhav states that the scheme is open to eligible matric-trained teachers, trained graduate teachers, graduate grade teachers and head teachers.
Applicants must have completed a minimum of 10 years of satisfactory service by June 30, 2026, and should not have already received MACP benefits.
What Is The MACP Scheme?
The Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) Scheme provides financial upgradation to government employees who do not receive regular promotions.
Under the scheme, employees become eligible for financial benefits after completing 10, 20 or 30 years of regular service without promotion, allowing them to receive the pay level of the next promotional grade.

Appointment letter
Pay fixation records
Promotion-related documents
Details of any previous MACP benefits, if applicable

The department has prescribed a phased timeline for processing applications.
Teachers must submit their applications to their respective headmasters by July 20, 2026. Headmasters have been directed to forward verified applications to the Block Education Officer (BEO) by July 25, while BEOs must complete verification and send them to the District Education Office by July 31.
Fresh Applications Mandatory
The District Education Office has clarified that previously submitted applications will not be considered for granting benefits. Teachers who had applied in earlier rounds must submit fresh applications with updated records and all required documents.
Instructions To Education Officials
Kumar Anubhav has directed all Block Education Officers and headmasters to ensure that no eligible application remains pending. Officials have been instructed to scrutinise applications within the prescribed timeline and forward them to the Establishment Section of the District Education Office for further processing.
According to the department, the initiative is intended to facilitate timely financial upgradation for eligible teachers who have completed the required years of service without receiving a promotion.
