Patna: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has invited applications for its 2026 Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) programme at the Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE), offering engineering graduates an opportunity to work on defence research projects.
According to the notification, eligible candidates can submit their applications offline or via email until July 15.
Research In Defence Technologies
Selected fellows will work on research projects involving automotive systems, electronics, communication technology and computer-based defence systems.
The fellowship also provides an opportunity for candidates to pursue a part-time PhD while undertaking research, subject to applicable rules and institutional requirements.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a BE or BTech degree in the relevant engineering discipline and possess a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score.
According to DRDO, the upper age limit is 28 years for the unreserved category, with relaxations extending the maximum age to 31 years and 33 years for eligible reserved categories, in accordance with government norms.
Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their applications before being invited to further stages of the selection process.
The recruitment process will include a written test and an interview, after which the final selection will be made.
Fellowship And Benefits
Selected candidates will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 37,000.
In addition to the fellowship, DRDO will provide House Rent Allowance (HRA) and medical facilities in accordance with the organisation’s applicable guidelines.
