Patna: Meta has introduced Muse Image, its latest artificial intelligence-powered image generation model, marking the first major release from its newly established Meta Superintelligence Labs. The company also previewed Muse Video, a new AI video generation model that is expected to become available to creators and Meta AI users in the coming months.
Muse Image is now available through the Meta AI app and Meta.ai. Users in the United States can also access the feature through Instagram Stories, while WhatsApp support has started rolling out in select countries. The company said the technology will gradually expand across Meta AI, Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook.
Reasoning-Based Image Generation
According to Meta, Muse Image differs from conventional AI image generators by using an agent-based reasoning system before producing images. Instead of relying solely on text prompts, the model can search the web for up-to-date information, execute code to generate QR codes, create charts and graphics, and refine its responses before presenting the final output.
The company said users can edit specific parts of an image without changing the entire composition. The model also supports combining multiple reference images in a single prompt, enabling users to merge people, objects, locations and artistic styles into one generated image.
Meta added that the system spends more time reasoning before generating results, with the aim of improving accuracy and consistency.
Muse Video And New Creative Features
Building on the Muse Image model, Meta also announced Muse Video, an AI-powered video generation tool currently under testing. The company said the model is designed to deliver improved prompt adherence, higher visual quality and native audio generation.
Meta also introduced Content Seal, an invisible watermark embedded into AI-generated images. According to the company, the watermark remains detectable even after an image is cropped, resized or compressed, helping identify AI-generated content.
Rollout Across Meta Platforms
The new AI technology will support several creative features across Meta’s ecosystem. These include AI-generated Instagram Story effects, image generation directly within WhatsApp chats, and room redesign suggestions using products from the web and Facebook Marketplace.
Meta said Muse Image is available free for everyday use, while users requiring higher usage limits will be able to access them through the company’s subscription plans.
