Patna: Gold and silver prices increased on July 9, with the price of 24-carat gold rising by Rs 1,022 to Rs 1.43 lakh per 10 grams, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA).
Silver also registered an increase, gaining Rs 1,752 to reach Rs 2.23 lakh per kg.
Gold Up Nearly Rs 10,000 This Year
Gold prices have recorded significant gains since the beginning of 2026. On December 31, 2025, 10 grams of 24-carat gold was priced at over Rs 1.33 lakh. With the latest increase, the price has climbed to Rs 1.43 lakh, reflecting an increase of around Rs 10,000 this year.
The rise comes amid continued fluctuations in domestic bullion prices throughout the year.
Silver Remains Below End-2025 Level
Despite Wednesday’s increase, silver continues to trade below its level at the end of last year. On December 31, 2025, silver was priced at Rs 2.30 lakh per kg. It currently stands at Rs 2.23 lakh per kg, a decline of around Rs 7,000 over the period.
Bullion Touched Record Highs Earlier This Year
Both precious metals have experienced sharp price movements during 2026. Gold reached an all-time high of Rs 1.76 lakh per 10 grams, while silver touched Rs 3.86 lakh per kg on January 29, according to IBJA data.
