Patna: Bihar Energy Secretary and Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL), Ajay Yadav, on July 12 reviewed the implementation of rooftop solar panels being installed for Kutir Jyoti consumers under the PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana during a field visit to Dhibra Panchayat in Patna district.

The inspection covered Hasanpura village and nearby areas under the Masaurhi Electricity Supply Division. During the visit, Yadav interacted with beneficiaries to assess the progress of installations and gather feedback on the functioning and day-to-day use of the solar systems.

Officials Directed To Expedite Installations

Yadav instructed local officials and implementing agencies to accelerate the installation of rooftop solar panels while maintaining quality standards.

He said consumer convenience should remain a priority throughout the installation process and directed agencies to complete the work within the prescribed timeline.

Focus On Quality And Consumer Training

During the inspection, officials identified the need for closer monitoring of equipment installation and mounting procedures.

The Energy Secretary directed officials to ensure that installations are carried out by trained personnel and that beneficiaries receive practical guidance on the operation, maintenance and safe use of the solar panels.

Awareness Campaigns To Be Organised

Yadav also instructed officials to organise awareness camps at the local level to increase public awareness of the PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and its benefits.

He said the scheme aims to provide sustainable, affordable and reliable electricity, particularly in rural areas, and stressed that long-term benefits would depend on beneficiaries being able to use and maintain the systems effectively.

Power Infrastructure Also Reviewed

During the field visit, the Energy Secretary also inspected local electricity distribution infrastructure, including transformers and other power supply systems.

He directed officials to strengthen maintenance of transformers to minimise tripping and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. He said the Energy Department remains committed to providing reliable and quality power services to consumers across the state.
