Patna: Gold prices declined in Bihar on Monday, offering some relief to jewellery buyers after recent fluctuations in the bullion market. The fall mirrored a broader nationwide trend, with prices easing across major cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Lucknow.
According to bullion market data, the price of 24-carat gold in Patna stood at Rs 1,42,240 per 10 grams, down by Rs 128 from the previous trading session.
The price of 22-carat gold in the state capital was Rs 1,30,029 per 10 grams.

Why Are Gold Prices Falling?
According to market experts, renewed geopolitical tensions involving the United States and Iran, along with sharp movements in crude oil prices, have influenced investor sentiment and contributed to the decline in domestic gold prices.
Analysts said global economic developments continue to remain the primary driver of bullion prices in India.
Some experts believe the price of 24-carat gold could fall further to around Rs 1.20 lakh per 10 grams if current market conditions persist. However, they also expect prices to recover later in the year if global demand strengthens, with estimates suggesting gold could climb to around Rs 1.75 lakh per 10 grams.
22-Carat Vs 24-Carat Gold
The main difference between 24-carat and 22-carat gold lies in purity.
24-carat gold is considered the purest form of gold, but because it is relatively soft, it is generally not used for making jewellery.
22-carat gold contains a small proportion of other metals, making it stronger and more suitable for jewellery manufacturing. As a result, most ornaments sold in India are made from 22-carat gold.
